Each container has a tomato or bell pepper along with either a basil, dill, rosemary, thyme or oregano. They are coming along nicely.

Mine have been a little slow to get growing, must be too chilly? I did fertilize yesterday, and did something I hate to do,used insecticide.Got pill bugs, its that or no garden.Just get those plants up a bit and can shift to Neem oil and Diatomaceous Earth .

A very successful year.Using 20 containers.I fertilized each twice with a tablespoon of regular granular Miracle Grow into the water. The self watering buckets are hydroponics without the fuss.
Next year i will divvy it up to Romas, cherry toms and peppers.Try a couple early Girls.Peppers in each tomato bucket, also some will get thyme, oregano and basil as companion plants.
I got 2 dozen tomatoes from each Roma.Three varieties of cherry did well. The green peppers and Poblanos are coming on strong now as tomatoes die back.Spices did well,Dill did famously!A couple kale did well but for the caterpillars that beat em up.Also had a couple tomatillos start coming on late here.
I like how you can really pack in the plants in each container.
benefits... 1 Great water conservation,no waste 2 No weeds to speak of 3 Can plant as densely almost as hydroponics yet no pumps or chemicals to manage.
Basil Oregano Thyme A nice cleansing then into dehydrator and packaging.
My biggest 2 day harvest yet.Im convinced, buckets and cherry tomatoes are a winner for me.
