Hydro has a much larger expense,has water tanks,has to have pumps.Containers dont.Hydro more plants per area.

Both very water efficient and easy to maintain,no weeding for one.Hydro has to have water quality monitored and maintained,containers dont.

You pick the easier most cost efficient solution,to me container is an easy winner.
