I have 20 buckets, next year adding 20 more,if I only get 5-10 maters per bucket thats 200-400 tomatoes, that will do me and Mrs well. Might get a ton more,my season was set back 6 weeks when something ate my maters back to stubs 6 weeks into growing.I still have babies coming in but its getting very chilly at night and only 72F on a good day,Im into serious fall season here. I reckon my cherry toms will slowly ripen in barn,I will pull plants and hang upside down, that works well to ripen the green toms,I have a bunch of them. My big ones are ripening on vine but still have to bring in early, some critter is getting them as they get 50% ripe or so,imagine its a rat?Or skunks or raccoons, just dont know, one had a BIG one half eaten and looked like bigger than a rodent.

I'm just tinkering around with grow buckets this year to see how they do and i'm impressed with them because the in-ground garden has been done for over a month and i'm still getting some goodies from the buckets... Sorry for the pic is a lil blurry but there are collard greens , rainbow chard, and both sweet banana and sweet cayenne peppers with some eggplant that has been growing in what's called a patio picker growing kit.

Peppers still producing. And lettuce, plus the occasional green bean...and the chard, which we had cut down, has sprung back. Also I was playing with some rocket seeds, and they dropped into a pot below the one I was picking clean, and I think they're trying to grow. But tomatoes are pretty much over, and it was a bad year for them.

I'm done until the spring. I'm not putting out a winter garden. I keep thinking about lettuce but keep thinking maybe not.

Just dropping in to say hi.Its definitely season over here in SoCal.But next year I may some things going on under grow lights,LED.They have come a LONG way in last 5 years with prices plummeting and quality soaring.Right now a lightbulb with 12 one watt emitters can be had in the 10-20 dollar range and as efficient power use wise as any household LED bulb.
