I found it though an email from you. Sounds like an interesting forum, with the Earthbox/SIP being part of it, but also including all other container gardening.
I used to grow a lot in other containers, until i got hooked on the SIPs. Now, probably at least half of my veggies come from Earthboxes and homemade SIPs. Okra, cucumbers, and Eggplant I only grow in them, while some peppers, and most of my tomatoes are grown in them.

Where I live, some plants won't grow at all and those that do are a jungle. Having containers allows me to provide conditions for those reluctant growers and rise above the rampant growth of the happy ones.

Thanks for the email. I'm here too! Will you make my avatar the same girl as in the other forum? It wouldn't create the avatar here.

We do container gardening most of the time any more, too old to plow and plant....easier to keep produce in containers and pick the fruits of labor, just finished picking yellow and red cherry tomatoes, still producing some, so sweet.....okra has just a few pods, dwindling down to nothing soon...jalapeno peppers still going good....few walking onions....

I've arrived. I know little of gardening, and nothing of growing in containers. I hope to learn, because I have numerous 20 gallon syrup tubs.

Spuds is here!! Great forum idea. I have the 5 gallon self waterers, growing tomatoes and peppers. My tomato plants are getting huge.Peppers got set back by something that ate off all my tops. Next year I will start by adding a high nitrogen fertilizer early on for green growth, then let it go to veggie making.Need to get them big sooner with my short season.Going to do a lot of cherry style tomatoes and romas,a few large styles too. Then lots and lots of sweet peppers, hope to have enough peppers to can them. These are the container style I copied, going to double it to 40 next year by adding 20 made from Kitty Litter containers, nephew has me all set up for those for free. www.youtube.com/watch?v=6AlWGQIMHok

Thanks for the email. I tried a gazillion times to sign in on my phone and kept getting a message saying my user name is already taken so here I am on my iPad. I grew potatoes in buckets this summer. Worked great.

Start a new post and tell us a little about you and your container gardening escapades and how did you find us? Well, I'm gonna copy/paste from the Homesteading forum, which is how I found 'here.'
I can't say I'm a homesteader...I live on a half-acre in a subdivision, don't keep animals unless you count the catbird who keeps trying to come in the back door we're painting, and my garden is in a few pathetic containers. Though we do have grapes and blackberries, if I manage to beat the catbird to it.
I have a DIY streak in me somewhere. I love learning new stuff, too. I had come to the old homesteading forum in a search for a cat's eye lace knit pattern and everything else was so fascinating, I created an account.
This has to be the worst tomato season for us, ever. I have not had a single tomato sandwich! Birds keep chewing up the maters, and of the four plants we had, each of a different variety, the Better Bush and Early Girl died.
On the other hand it's been a great year for peppers, beans, and mosquitos.
